We have experimented
Native cypress tends to crack badly and is a severe fire risk due to the high levels of resins, and other treated and untreated materials. The CSIRO Division of Forest Products has determined after more than 25 years of in-ground testing that CCA Treated Pinus is more durable than any other hardwood of softwood available in Australia. A copy of these tests is available for perusal at our factory.
